How to create custom fields ⚡️

1️⃣ Enter the Settings from Buyer Personas, or from the Workspace Settings.

The configuration you are about to make will be applied to all your Workspace. Go to Settings Tab (here you will find the settings for each marketing section).

2️⃣ Click on NEW FIELD

Choose the type of field you want to create. At the moment you can find text types (short and long) and list types (checkboxes, radio buttons and sliders).

  • Checkbox: List of options from which you can choose between one and several.

  • Radio buttons: List of options from which you can choose only one option.

  • Sliders: List of visual options in which you can choose a range, from X to Y.

Remember: The type cannot be edited later, you must create a new field.

3️⃣ Edit and Delete options.

  • Edit and create new options quickly with a click, don't forget to always save with the ENTER key.

  • Sort the options with drag & drop, pass the cursor over the option and keep pressed the dot icon.

  • Delete with the trash can symbol, which you can see when hovering over the option.

4️⃣ Choose the location & Save.

Choose where you want this custom field, in the Demographics or Firmographics details of your Buyer Persona (you can modify it later).

Click SAVE, reload your page and check your Buyer Personas list.

How to use custom fields (Example): 🤓

In the practical exercise, we will assume that for my outsourcing service I am building a buyer persona aligned to a graphic designer, therefore, I will seek to better define it by customizing it.

  • To know which design tools he/she uses, I will use checkboxes with several options such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, AdobeXD, Premier, Final Cut Pro, etc... Allowing to choose more than one option.

  • To understand what type of contract he/she has, I will use radio-buttons to allow you to choose a single option, such as freelancer, full-time, part-time, labor, intern, etc...

  • To understand the work experience, I will implement a slider to choose a range of years of experience, between 1, 3, 5, 7 and more, and a long text field to describe in one paragraph the most common experience among designers.

  • Finally, to close your profile, I will seek to identify in one sentence the biggest motivation for choosing a job, with this I will use a short text field.

In this case, all my fields are focused on job analysis because of my service, so they will be in the Firmographics section. However, depending on your Persona you can also add demographics.

Now you try it!

Customize your buyer persona instantly.

How to edit a custom field ✏️

To edit custom fields, just go back to Buyer Personas Settings, hover the cursor over the field, and click on EDIT.

  • You will be able to edit the Label of your field, and the options in case it is a list.

    • List Case: Edit the text and modify the order of the options, create or delete options if necessary.

Keep in mind that these changes will be reflected in your buyer personas, therefore it is necessary to be sure to delete or modify an option, because if it is selected in a buyer persona, you will have to choose it again in the buyer persona details.

Important: 💡 You will not be able to edit the field type, for this, it will be necessary to create a new one.

Remember: 📌 Every time you make a change within your custom fields, reload the page to see it reflected.

How to reorganize custom fields 👉🏻

In case you want to reorganize your custom fields, just drag & drop them in their corresponding list. The order will be visually reflected in the details of your buyer persona, also in the edition, starting from left to right and from top to bottom.

To move your custom field from Demographics to Firmographics, and vice versa, it will be necessary to enter the field edition and select its new location.

Reminder: 📌 When changing its location, the custom field will be positioned at the end of the target list.

How to delete custom fields ⭕️

If you want to delete a Custom Field, you must select the 3 dots menu on the right side and click on DELETE.

The custom field will be deleted permanently, including the data you had entered into it across your personas. You will not be able to recover the data.

That's it!
